Colours Run"Could Be, And Should Be, Absolutely Massive" - www.manchestermusic.co.uk October 11 We've been shortlisted! The Live Sessions competition has now ended, and we're top of our genre charts! The judges will now pick three bands from each genre to go through to the next round. If we go through, we'll compete in a battle of the bands against the other two winners in our group. The ultimate winner will get a £300,000 promotion deal.
Fingers crossed.
Thanks very much to everyone who downloaded our tunes. I hope you enjoyed listening to them as much as we enjoyed making them.
Tim August 05 Check out this interview with the band. There's a new website that promotes bands in the North West of England, called (shockingly) www.northwestbands.co.uk.
We did a little interview for them, which you can read here.
August 02 We're #1 in The Mag's download chartsEven more good news. Excellent online music magazine www.themag.me.uk lists us as the number 1 most downloaded band in July. Thanks guys! For our profile picture, they selected one of Paul, which comes from our first photoshoot. We were all trying to look as moody, troubled and pretentious as possible. Ahhh, band photos.
Yes, he is in fact smoking a small twig. August 01 A great review from God Is In The TVWe've just had a lovely review from God Is In The TV, a great online music magazine. Here it is, in its entirety:

I’ve listened to this demo a lot before getting round to writing about, because it’s a grower. A real grower. Hailing mostly from a real hotbed for new music, Manchester, this lo-fi four piece make shimmering guitar driven pop music with catchy melodies.
'On My Side' hops along, relaxed but jaunty, with layers of acoustic strumming and a tranquil guitar riff merging in with the breezy vocals. The outstanding track here, though, is undoubtedly 'Beautiful Waste of Time', punchier in its upbeat style. A song riddled with vocal hooks, summery harmonies and unusual chord changes, this would go down tastily at an open air gig in the cool evening sunshine. Third song 'Before The War', almost ballad-like at snail’s pace with soft acoustic guitars, slowly builds from a Radiohead-style opening into an emotionally charged waltz through tender chords and telling vocals, lamenting, "I don’t remember what I did before the war". Somehow akin to Blur, with their gentle catchy approach to music, Colours Run are a typical representation of all that’s good about new music. Genuinely ploughing your own style, writing decent songs, the only battle is getting people to realise that you deserve to be heard. But Colours Run certainly do, and this 3-track EP should go some way to getting these boys on your side.

Thanks guys! July 29 You can help us get famous - in two minutes!Ever wanted to be the person who made a band famous?
Well, there are quite a few ways you can do it, but by far the easiest is simply telling the people at NME you like us. Here's a link to the Colours Run page on NME's website. All you have to do is register, then vote for our band on our NME page, and maybe leave a comment saying whether you like our stuff. Simple as hell, and it'll only take two minutes! If we get enough votes, we will appear on the front page of the NME site, and you will be personally responsible. As a reward, we will send you the underpants of the band member of your choice. You may also discover some other great bands on NME while you're there. Thanks a lot for your help, and I hope you enjoy the underpants. Tim |
